Trooper finished his Breed Championship under judge John Connoly on April 6, 2003 at the Wichita Sunflower Cluster. All of Trooper's conformation points (16 total) were owner handled. His Championship photo is proof of that when Trooper and Kim ran from the Herding course (almost a qualifying score!) to the Breed Ring without time to change clothes! His first time out as a "Special" Trooper went Best of Breed at the Oklahoma Sooner Circuit on May 3, 2003 under judge Norman Herbel.
